E-Bikes Need Batteries

E-Bikes Need Batteries

I’ve been having battery issues with my bike for the last month or so. When I hit a hard bump it just shuts down, no display or power. I discovered that I can get it active again by banging on the side of the battery, suggesting that something is disconnecting inside. I reported it to Himiway Warranty Service and they agreed, They are going to send a replacement battery but it won’t be available for 2-3 months! Before this issue came along I had ordered a second battery from AliExpress on April 25 just to have a spare. It is also taking its time getting here. It has been shipped but hasn’t reached port of LA to be handed off the FedEx yet. Meanwhile, I have been able to limp along with this one until after my ride on Sunday. The new problem is that if the battery is left on the bike it turns off automatically and won’t come back on despite all efforts. So I now ride my 70lb. bike with pedal power only (analog LOL).

I took the longest tide to date on Sunday, over 28 miles. Here’s some pics of Sandy Hook.

Here’s a few recent pics to keep things updated.

  • Replaced my old DeBot brand robot vacuum with a new Wyze  Robot Vacuum. It’s faster and uses Lidar to map each room for very efficient cleaning.
  • Next up is Drago sitting so handsome in the back yard.
  • Lastly is a DNA themed t-shirt that I bought from Newtons Designs. It compliments my DNA sibling tat that I designed to represent sisters Mimi, Diane and me.

Hyperlapse Video

About 7 minutes of Hyperlapse video of my 40 minute ride home from work at the Matawan Aberdeen Library. It starts off on surface streets for about 1.5 miles but the balance of about 6 miles is on the Henry Hudson Trail which parallels the Ocean, sometimes only a hundred yards or so away.

Taken with an old iPhone 11 Pro mounted on the handlebars using the Instagram Hyperlapse app for stabilization.
