3 degrees this morning

Fireside at the Veitch’s

We all had a great meal the other night.  Appetizers of shrimp and scallops followed by ribs.  Sitting by the fire is a tradition that never fails to bring out good conversation and warm feelings.

Breakfast!

More running in the field

Cigar & Espresso

Sitting outside Doghouse Espresso having a Romeo y Julieta and a 4-shot Grind.

Overflow Pond from Lake

Taken during my walk with Panzer at the lake.

Still snow mid-May

Everyone seems to get butt-hurt so easily these days.  At least the Irish don't get offended easily. I don't see them demanding that Lucky Charms change their name or stop using the diminutive supernatural being in Irish folklore, the beloved leprechaun.

Holmdel Park & Bell Works Ride

Longest ride to date. Left around 1pm and headed to Holmdel Park. Only took about 45 minutes. After cruising aropund there a bit on the wooded trails we rode to Bell Works, just over a mile away. What a neat place. Grabbed some coffee and headed home. Nice 3 hour trip.

New iPhone coming with 3MP camera

But the existing 2MP takes pretty good shots already.  This is a pot on the back porch.

Sunset in neighborhood

Just a quick snap taken during my walk/jog around the neighborhood on my birthday.  No exposure information saved since it was taken within the Runkeeper app on my iPhone 6 Plus.  Editing with Snapseed app to underexpose the lower section and with Touch/Retouch app to...

2nd New Foal This Year

I just realized that I didn't post a pic of the new colt born Sunday May 3. The photo below was taken when he was 7 days old.  His momma was a maiden mare and both baby and momma were challenged by the whole nursing thing.  Baby didn't know where the teat was or what...

Early Morning Run!

Got up early and drove 30 minutes north to Blanchard Park for the Orlando Runners Club 5K. This was a spur of the moment idea when I ran across a blurb for the run online.  I haven't done a full 5K for several years but felt I was in shape enough to do it in 2min/1min...

Wood Stork

Spent some time at the lake at the Orlando Fairgrounds watching wildlife.  The Wood Storks were content to stand nearby and splash in the shallows, but eventually took off for parts unknown.   Below: Splashing in the water   Below: Finally got camera shy and...

Christmas season has started

I thought I'd launch the season with a pic taken in 2004 or 2005.  I dressed up as Santa at the NC Telecom offices and greeted kids and adults alike.  Bad Santa.

WOW, just WOW

This image is not Photoshopped. Large sinkholes devour Guatemala City. A giant sinkhole larger than a street intersection has swallowed a three-story building and a house in Guatemala, as residents reel from a storm that has killed at least 146 people across Central...

NC Telecom Update

Well, the judge in the NCT bankruptcy case ruled that our reorganization plan and auction should move forward as presented in our motion.  He apparently did not buy the argument that the parent company or current management (moi) allowed our personal stakes in the...

We DID move!

We finally moved from the house in Meeker , we stayed there wishing we had something larger for almost 6 years.  Although we put a lot into it by adding outbuildings and recently built a barn/shop, it has always not quite met our needs somehow.  The land was hilly,...

Hyperlapse Video

About 7 minutes of Hyperlapse video of my 40 minute ride home from work at the Matawan Aberdeen Library. It starts off on surface streets for about 1.5 miles but the balance of about 6 miles is on the Henry Hudson Trail which parallels the Ocean, sometimes only a...

4th of July Flag and Fireworks

I took the following photo from our back deck using my lowly iPhone 2MP camera.  It shows the fireworks from the lake about a mile away with my backyard flagpole in the foreground.  Just a bit of shadow/highlight adjustment in Photoshop CS3 and it looks OK.
